Saint-Martin (offisielt Collectivité de Saint-Martin) er et fransk oversjøisk samfunn som ligger i Karibia. Saint-Martin består av den nordlige halvdelen av øya Saint Martin samt noen mindre omkringliggende øyer (den største av disse er Île Tintamarre). Den sørlige delen av øya, Sint Maarten, er et av de fire konstituerte landene i Kongeriket Nederlandene. Saint-Martin har 36 992 innbyggere (2014).

Saint-Martin er atskilt fra det britiske oversjøiske territoriet Anguilla av Anguillakanalen.

Per 1. januar 2014 var folkemengden 36 992.[1]

Politikk og regjering

I mange år utgjorde Saint-Martin en kommune i Guadeloupe, som er et fransk oversjøisk departement og derfor del av Den europeiske union (EU). I 2003 stemte befolkninga på Saint-Martin for utskilling fra Guadeloupe for i stedet å bli et separat fransk oversjøisk samfunn.[2] Den 9. februar 2007 godkjente det franske parlamentet et lovforslag som ga status som oversjøisk samfunn til Saint-Martin og (separat) naboøya Saint-Barthélemy.[3] Den nye statusen trådte i kraft da lokalstyret blei valgt 15. februar 2007.[4] Saint-Martin fortsatte å være en del av EU.

Før 2007 brukte Saint-Martin ISO 3166-1-koden GP (Guadeloupe). I oktober 2007 blei det oversjøiske samfunnet tildelt kodene MF (alfa-2), MAF (alfa-3) og 663 (numerisk).[5]
