Mawtini

Iraks nasjonalsang (instrumentalversjon)

Mawtini (arabisk: موطني‎) (norsk: «Mitt hjemland») er et populært dikt skrevet av den berømte palestinske dikteren Ibrahim Touqan (arabisk: إبراهيم طوقان‎) rundt 1934 i Palestina. Det ble de facto nasjonalsang for Palestina og Irak. Den er også anerkjent som en viktig sang for å vise støtte for Palestina i Syria og Algerie. Musikken ble komponert av Muhammad Fuliefil (arabisk: محمد فليفل‎). Den har i årenes løp blitt svært populær i hele den arabiske verden.

Mawtini var nasjonalsang i Irak frem til Saddam Hussein innførte Ardh Alforatain, knyttet til hans Baath-regime, som nasjonalsang i 1981. Etter Saddam Husseins fall i 2003 ble Mawtini gjeninført som nasjonalsang.
