Moss kyrkje

Vestre Borgesyssel prosti er eit tenestedistrikt i Borg bispedømme i Den norske kyrkja. Det femner kommunane Moss, Råde og Våler i Østfold fylke[1]. Prosten har sete i Moss.

Historie

Prostiet vart oppretta i 1816. Då vart prestegjelda Moss, Onsøy, Rygge, Råde, Tune og Våler skilt ut frå Nedre Borgesyssel prosti.[2]

Sokn

Prostiet er inndelt i sokn. Soknet er grunneininga i Den norske kyrkja. Dei som arbeider i kyrkja er anten tilsette av soknet gjennom kyrkjeleg fellesråd, eller dei er tilsette i prostiet. Dei fleste prestane er tilsette i prostiet, og har tenesta si knytt til eitt eller fleire sokn.
