La stagione 1991-1992 è stata la 56ª edizione della American Hockey League, la più importante lega minore nordamericana di hockey su ghiaccio. Per la prima volta dalla stagione 1977-78 vennero modificati i raggruppamenti con la creazione dell'Atlantic Division; ciò provocò anche una nuova formula e l'allargamento dei playoff. La stagione vide al via quindici formazioni e al termine dei playoff gli Adirondack Red Wings conquistarono la loro quarta Calder Cup sconfiggendo i St. John's Maple Leafs 4-3.
