קודשי קדשים הם סוג מסוים של קרבנות שקדושתם חמורה, יותר מקרבנות קודשים קלים. בקודשי קדשים אין חלק שנאכל לבעלי הקרבן, כאשר עולה אסורה באכילה, וחטאת ואשם נאכל רק לכהנים בעזרה, ואכילתם היא מצווה ומכפרת על הבעלים.

קודשי קדשים הם: עולה, חטאת (גם קורבנות העוף), אשם, ושלמי ציבור (שלמי עצרת). כל המנחות[1] יש להם דינים משותפים עם קודשי הקודשים (חוץ מלחם התודה והנזיר[2]).

זֶֽה־יִהְיֶ֥ה לְךָ֛ מִקֹּ֥דֶשׁ הַקֳּדָשִׁ֖ים מִן־הָאֵ֑שׁ כָּל־קָ֠רְבָּנָם לְֽכָל־מִנְחָתָ֞ם וּלְכָל־חַטָּאתָ֗ם וּלְכָל־אֲשָׁמָם֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר יָשִׁ֣יבוּ לִ֔י קֹ֣דֶשׁ קָֽדָשִׁ֥ים לְךָ֛ ה֖וּא וּלְבָנֶיֽךָ: בְּקֹ֥דֶשׁ הַקֳּדָשִׁ֖ים תֹּאכֲלֶ֑נּוּ כָּל־זָכָר֙ יֹאכַ֣ל אֹת֔וֹ קֹ֖דֶשׁ יִֽהְיֶה־לָּֽךְ:

מפסוקים אלה לומד הספרי[3]. את כל הדברים שניתנים לכהן שקרואים קדשי קדשים: "מן האש" זה עורות העולה, "מנחתם" זה כל המנחות, "חטאתם" זה כל החטאות, ו"אשמם" זה כל האשמות. שלמי הציבור נלמדים מהפסוק ”וַעֲשִׂיתֶם שְׂעִיר עִזִּים אֶחָד לְחַטָּאת וּשְׁנֵי כְבָשִׂים בְּנֵי שָׁנָה לְזֶבַח שְׁלָמִים.” בהיקש לחטאת[4].

מצוות אכילה בקדשי קדשים

אכילת קדשי קדשים הנאכלים על ידי הכהנים (חטאת ואשם) מכפרת על הבעלים. דין זה נלמד מהפסוק ”וְאָכְלוּ אֹתָם אֲשֶׁר כֻּפַּר בָּהֶם”. מכאן למדו חז"ל במסכת פסחים[5] שכל עוד הכהנים לא אוכלים - אין כפרה לבעלי הקרבן. דין זה פוסק הרמב"ם כמצוות עשה לאכול החטאת והאשם[6].

ההבדלים בין קדשי קדשים לקדשים קלים

  • מקום השחיטה - קודשי קודשים שנשחטים רק ”עַל יֶרֶךְ הַמִּזְבֵּחַ צָפֹנָה”[7] לעומת קדשים קלים הניתנים לשחיטה בכל רחבי העזרה. נחלקו תנאים בגבולות השטח של שחיטת קודשי קדשים[8] ולהלכה כל חלקה הצפוני של העזרה, מכותלה המזרחי ועד כותלו המזרחי של האולם כשר[9].
  • אכילה - עולות אינן נאכלות כלל אך עורותם ניתנים לכהנים, בחטאות הנאכלות ובאשם לאחר הקרבת האימורים שאר הבשר נאכל לכהנים זכרים. זאת לעומת שאר קדשים קלים שנאכלים על ידי הבעלים[10].
    • מקום האכילה - קדשי קדשים שנאכלים הם רק בעזרה בניגוד לקדשים קלים שנאכלים בכל ירושלים[11].
    • זמן האכילה - זמן האכילה של קודשי קדשים הנאכלים הוא יום ולילה (יום השחיטה, והלילה שלאחריו) מלאחר השחיטה, (גם קורבן תודה, נאכל ליום ולילה). לעומת שאר הקדשים הקלים שזמנם שני ימים ולילה (חוץ מקורבן פסח, שנאכל רק בלילה שלאחר הקרבתו).
  • זמן המעילה - בקודשי קודשים נחשב כמועל בקודשים משעה שהקדשו, לאחר שנזרק דמו מועל רק אם השתמש בבשר הקורבן שמיועד להישרף על גבי המזבח. אבל דין מעילה בקודשים קלים, תחילת זמנו רק לאחר זריקת הדם על המזבח ורק על האימורים שמיועדים להישרף על גבי המזבח[12]. הסיבה להבדל זה היא, שקודשי קודשים נחשבים מתחילה כמיועדים להקרבה, ורק לאחר זריקת הדם מתחדש ההיתר לכוהנים לאכול מן הבשר, ובכך פוקע ממנו איסור מעילה. לעומת זאת קודשים קלים אינם מוגדרים מלכתחילה כמיועדים להקרבה, ולכן לא נוהג בהם איסור מעילה בחייהם, ורק לאחר זריקת הדם, כשמתברר איזה חלקים מן הקורבן מיועדים להקטרה על המזבח ואיזה לאכילה, חל איסור מעילה על החלקים המיועדים למזבח.
