"You Broke Me First" (מעוצב באותיות קטנות; "you broke me first"; בעברית: "את/ה שברת אותי קודם") הוא סינגל שהוקלט על ידי הזמרת-יוצרת הקנדית טייט מקריי.[2] השיר יצא לאור ב-17 באפריל 2020, על ידי חברת התקליטים RCA רקורדס, כסינגל ראשון מתוך האלבום, Too Young to Be Sad.[2][3][4] השיר הצליח בזכות הרשת חברתית המקוונת TikTok,[5][6] בו הועלו למעלה ממיליון סרטונים שנשאו את השיר ברקע.[7][8] בשל הצלחתו ב-TikTok, השיר זכה להצלחה גם בפלטפורמות הסטרימינג. נכון למאי 2021, יש לשיר למעלה ממיליארד השמעות בפלטפורמות סטרימינג שונות,[9] מעל 525 מיליון השמעות בפנדורה,[10] ומעל 600 מיליון השמעות בספוטיפיי.[11] השיר הוא השלישי המושמע ביותר בפלטפורמות סטרימינג שהוציאו אמניות בשנת 2020, והשני המושמע ביותר בפלטפורמות סטרימינג של אמנית סולו. השיר הושמע ברדיו המרכזי של ארצות הברית ב-4 באוגוסט 2020.[12][13]

ביקורת

מבקרים רבים כתבו כי השיר "You Broke Me First" היה האישי ביותר של מקריי שנכתב עד כה, וחלקם תיארו אותו כ-"בלדה קשה".[14][15]

הופעות חיות

מקריי ביצעה את השיר בטקס פרסי הווידאו קליפים של MTV לשנת 2020.[16] באוקטובר, מקריי ביצעה את השיר בג'ימי קימל לייב.[17] בנובמבר, מקריי ביצעה את השיר בטקס פרסי המוזיקה של MTV אירופה 2020 וזכה לשבחים על ידי NME ובילבורד על היותו אחד מהשירים הבולטים ביותר.[18][19] בינואר 2021, מקריי ביצעה את השיר בתוכנית הלילה עם ג'ימי פאלון (אנ')‏.[20]

הרמיקס של התקליטן הגרמני לוקה שריינר יצא ב-1 ביוני 2020.[21] הרמיקס של גריפין יצא ב-9 באוקטובר 2020.[22] הזמר הבריטי קונור מיינרד הוציא גרסת כיסוי לשיר ב-16 באוקטובר 2020.[23]
