המוזיאון הלאומי לאמנויות מהמאה ה-21 או MAXXI (באיטלקית: Museo nazionale delle arti del XXI secolo) הוא מוזיאון לאומי לאמנות עכשווית ולאדריכלות בשכונת פלמיניו ברומא, איטליה.

המוזיאון מנוהל על ידי קרן שהוקמה על ידי המשרד האיטלקי למורשת ופעילות תרבותית. הבניין תוכנן על ידי זהא חדיד, וזכה בפרס סטירלינג של המכון המלכותי לאדריכלים בריטים בשנת 2010.

היסטוריה

זהא חדיד זכתה בתחרות עיצוב בינלאומית לעיצוב בניין המוזיאון. הגשתה כללה חמישה מבנים נפרדים, שרק אחד מהם הושלם. הוא נבנה באתר של צריף צבאי לשעבר.[1]

בנייתו של המוזיאון נמשכה יותר מעשר שנים, והוא נפתח לקהל בשנת 2010.[2][3] באותה השנה קיבלה את פרס סטירלינג לאדריכלות של המכון המלכותי לאדריכלים בריטים.[4]

"הגרדיאן" כינה את בניין ה-MAXXI כ"יצירה הטובה ביותר של חדיד עד היום"[2] וכ"יצירת מופת שמתאימה לשכון לצד פלאיה העתיקים של רומא".[3]

תיאור

MAXXI מורכב משני מוזיאונים: "MAXXI אמנות" ו-"MAXXI ארכיטקטורה".[4] החצר החיצונית המקיפה את המוזיאון מספקת מקום ליצירות אמנות רחבות היקף.[5]

אוספים

אוספי הקבע של שני המוזיאונים הללו צומחים באמצעות רכישות ישירות, וכן באמצעות עמלות, תחרויות נושאיות, פרסים לאמנים צעירים, תרומות והלוואות קבועות.
