אקדמיה יבנאית חדשה

הרב ד"ר יעקב יצחק נימירובר

אקדמיה יבנאית חדשה (או אקדמיית יבנה מודרנית; בגרמנית: Moderne Jabnehakademie, ברומנית: O Academie Iabneiană modernă) הייתה תוכנית להקמת אקדמיה בארץ ישראל, שתהווה מרכז רוחני של העם היהודי ויכהנו בה כל ענקי הרוח של העם היהודי, בלי קשר להשקפותיהם הדתיות, הלאומיות או החברתיות. השם מהווה התייחסות ל"כרם יבנה" שפעל לאחר חורבן בית שני.[1] את התוכנית הגה ופרסם, בתחילת המאה ה-20, הרב ד"ר יעקב יצחק נימירובר, מי שכיהן (לאחר הפרסום) כרב הראשי הראשון של יהדות רומניה.

נימירובר פרסם תחילה את רעיונו במאמר שפורסם בגרמנית בכתב עת רומני בשנת 1902, ולא זכה להדים. הוא הגיש את עבודתו לעיונם של מורו, פרופ' מוריץ לצרוס, ולמקס נורדאו וה"מ כהן,[דרושה הבהרה] והם הגיבו בסקפטיות מסוימת. הרב מקס אלברט קלאוזנר העביר ביקורת מעט אירונית. למרות התגובות הלא מעודדות, נימירובר חשב שתוכניתו בת הגשמה וב-1906 פרסם, ברומנית, תוכנית מפורטת ומורחבת.[2]

ב-1909 פורסמה תוכניתו כספר בגרמנית, בווינה,[3] בשתי מהדורות. ב-1913 פורסם הספר גם בעברית, בבוטושאן, בשם אקדמיה יבנאית חדשה.

נימירובר היה מודע לפיצול ההולך וגובר בקרב בני העם היהודי, לכן קיווה שהאקדמיה המוצעת על ידו תהווה גורם מלכד שיתעלה מעל לגורמים המפרידים. הוא סבר שניו יורק, שהייתה המרכז היהודי הגדול ביותר; ברלין, המקום שבו התפתחה היהדות המודרנית; ופריז, שבה משכן כל ישראל חברים, יאלצו לוותר לירושלים על הכבוד לארח את האקדמיה החדשה.

מהותה של האקדמיה המוצעת

נימירובר קבע שלאקדמיה היבנאית המתוכננת צריכות להיות מטרות דתיות, לאומיות, רוחניות, מדעיות, ספרותיות ואמנותיות. תחילה הוא קבע מה האקדמיה לא צריכה להיות: היא לא תהיה סינוד דתי, כדי לא לפגוע בחופש המצפון ובזכויות המיעוטים, וכדי שעצמאות הביקורת תהיה מקודשת.[4]

הפיצול הדתי בקרב היהודים

לדברי נימירובר, העם היהודי בזמנו התפלג מבחינה דתית לקבוצות הבאות:

  1. אורתודוקסים ישנים, המתחלקים לאשכנזים ולספרדים.
  2. חסידים, המתחלקים לקבוצות שונות.
  3. הנאו-אורתודוקסיה בהנהגתם של שמשון רפאל הירש מפרנקפורט ועזריאל הילדסהיימר מברלין.
  4. הקונסרבטיבים החיים והמלמדים לפי התאוריה ההיסטורית של הרב זכריה פרנקל מברסלאו.
  5. הליברלים והנאולוגים בהונגריה.
  6. קונסרבטיבים ומתקדמים (פרוגרסיסטים) חופשיים, בעיקר במזרח.
  7. הרדיקלים, הקהילה הרפורמית של שמואל הולדהיים בברלין וארגונים שונים בארצות הברית.
  8. הדתיים החופשיים שלא משתייכים לזרם ומקיימים הומניזם אתי תחת הנהגתו של פליקס אדלר בארצות הברית.[5]
