Teatro radiofónico

O teatro radiofónico é un drama de ficción que se transmite a través da radio. Ao carecer de compoñentes visuais, o teatro radiofónico dependen do diálogo, a música e os efectos de son para axudar ao ouvinte a imaxinar a historia.

Orixe

Tivo un desenvolvemento inicial en 1920 e gañou moita popularidade durante as seguintes décadas. En 1940 foi unha forma de entretemento popular a nivel mundial. Coa chegada da televisión, a mediados do século XX decaeu en gran medida, e actualmente ten unha pequena presenza no entretemento, manténdose nalgúns países máis como actividade cultural, non obstante no Reino Unido goza dunha relativa popularidade, producindo a BBC 200 pezas só en 2009[1].

En Galicia

A Radio Galega conta cunha importante tradición de teatro radiofónico. En 1988 a Sección de Cultura da Radio Galega, dirixida por Antón de Santiago pon en marcha as primeiras iniciativas, e emite, entre outras, A porta pechada de Jean-Paul Sartre e mais a obra cómica Os Cabaleiros, con guión de Carlos Reboreda, e o elenco de actores e actrices estaba formado por profesionais da emisora: Antón de Santiago, Xosé Luís Freire, Santiago Davila ou Isabel Freire.[2]

Desde o ano 2006 o programa da Radio Galega Diario Cultural convoca o Premio Diario Cultural de teatro radiofónico, que consiste na selección e adaptación radiofónica dos textos finalistas e a publicación en audiolibro dos textos premiados polo xurado e o público. Este premio foi recoñecido particularmente pola profesión teatral. Co obxectivo de protenciar a creatividade radiofónica entre a audiencia do programa, convoca o concurso de creación semanal "Sonigrama".

Tamén a Escola Superior de Arte Dramática de Galicia en colaboración co IES Audiovisual de Vigo e Radio Redondela convoca o Premio Pegada desde o ano 2014. Ademais existen diversos concursos de teatro lido dirixidos ao alumnado que emiten emisoras locais como o Concurso escolar de teatro lido Xosé Manuel Eirís[3] ou o Concurso radiofónico de teatro lido de Ames Desata a lingua [4].
