Milan Jurčina (né le à Liptovský Mikuláš en Tchécoslovaquie) est un joueur professionnel slovaque de hockey sur glace[1].

Carrière en club

Formé au MHk 32 Liptovský Mikuláš, il est choisi en 2000 au cours du repêchage européen de la Ligue canadienne de hockey par les Mooseheads d'Halifax en 35e position. Il part alors s'aguerrir dans la Ligue de hockey junior majeur du Québec. Il est choisi en 2001 au cours du repêchage d'entrée dans la Ligue nationale de hockey par les Bruins de Boston en 8e ronde, en 241e position. En 2003, il passe professionnel avec les Bruins de Providence dans la Ligue américaine de hockey. En 2005, il débute dans la Ligue nationale de hockey avec la franchise de Boston. Le , il échangé aux Capitals de Washington en retour d'un choix de quatrième ronde au repêchage 2008. Les Capitals l'échangent aux Blue Jackets de Columbus en compagnie de Chris Clark le en retour de Jason Chimera. À la date limite des transactions de cette même saison, il retourne avec les Capitals, en retour cette fois d'un choix de 6e ronde. Le , il signe un contrat d'un an avec les Islanders de New York. Le , près d'un mois après le début du lock-out dans la Ligue nationale de hockey, il rejoint la formation du KLH Chomutov dans la première ligue de hockey en république tchèque. Cependant, le , il est laissé libre ; un peu plus d'un mois plus tard, Jurcina se joint à l'équipe de Lukko dans la première ligue de Finlande, la SM-liiga.

Carrière internationale

Il représente la Slovaquie aux différentes compétitions senior depuis 2006. Il a participé aux jeux olympiques de Turin en 2006 et à ceux de Vancouver en 2010
