Taiwaninsalmi

Taiwaninsalmi sijaitsee manner-Aasian ja Taiwaninsaaren välissä.

Taiwaninsalmi eli Formosansalmi[1] on noin 160 kilometriä leveä manner-Aasian ja Taiwaninsaaren välinen sekä toisaalta Etelä-Kiinan meren ja Itä-Kiinan meren rajana toimiva salmi. Vedensyvyys on enimmillään noin 70 metriä.[2][3]

Salmen alue on ollut poliittisesti herkkä muun muassa muutaman Kiinan tasavallalle kuuluvan, mutta Kiinan kansantasavallan rannikolla sijaitsevan, saaren takia.
