Naum Koržavin

Naum Moisejevitš Koržavin (ven. Нау́м Моисе́евич Коржа́вин), oik. Naum Mandel (14. lokakuuta 1925 Kiova − 22. kesäkuuta 2018[1]) oli venäläinen, sittemmin Yhdysvaltoihin emigroitunut toisinajattelija, runoilija ja prosaisti, joka esitti avoimesti kritiikkiä Josif Stalinia ja Neuvostoliittoa kohtaan.

Juutalaissyntyinen Koržavin kiinnostui jo nuorena runoudesta. Hän opiskeli vuodesta 1945 Gorkin kirjallisuusinstituutissa Moskovassa, mutta hänet pidätettiin vuonna 1947. Runojen neuvostovastaiset mielipiteet aiheuttivat sen, että hän joutui viettämään kahdeksan kuukautta Lubjankan vankilassa Moskovassa, viisi vuotta Siperiassa ja kaksi vuotta Karagandassa, jossa hän toimi kaivoksen esimiehenä valmistuttuaan kaivosalan oppilaitoksesta.[2]

Stalinin kuoleman jälkeen toteutettu armahdus mahdollisti sen, että Korzhavin palasi Moskovaan ja hänen maineensa palautettiin vuonna 1956. Hän jatkoi opiskelua kirjallisuusinstituutissa ja valmistui 1959. Hän ansaitsi toimeentulonsa kääntäjänä ja onnistui silloin tällöin julkaisemaan runojaan lehdissä. Koržavin saavutti huomiota runoillaan 1960-luvun alussa, ja hänen valittujen runojensa kokoelma julkaistiin vuonna 1963. Hän julkaisi myös näytelmien käsikirjoituksia. Hän osallistui omantunnon vankien Danielin ja Sinjavskin puolustamisliikkeeseen 1960-luvulla ja myöhemmin Galanskin ja Ginsburgin. Sen jälkeen hänen teoksensa joutuivat julkaisukieltoon. Vuonna 1973 Koržavin anoi lupaa muuttaa maasta syynä "elämisen ilman puute".[2]

Koržavin muutti Bostoniin ja osallistui aikakauslehti The Continentin toimittamiseen, luennoi yliopistoissa ja kirjoitti runoja ja esseitä. Hänen kaksi kirjaansa julkaistiin Saksassa vuosina 1976 ja 1981, ja tuotantoa ilmestyi myös hänen kotimaassaan samizdat-kopioina. Neuvostoliiton viimeisinä aikoina vuonna 1989 runoilija kutsuttiin Venäjälle, jossa hän esiintyi monissa tilaisuuksissa suosittuna runoilijana. Jotkut hänen julkaisuistaan ovat ilmestyneet Venäjällä uudelleen vuoden 1990 jälkeen.[2]

Naum Koržavin esiintyy Neuvostoliiton toisinajattelevista kertovassa dokumenttielokuvassa Oni vybiraly svobodu (2005, 'He valitsivat vapauden'). Koržavin sai vuonna 2006 kirjallisista ansioistaan venäläisen Iso kirja -palkinnon.[2]
