Joxe Ulibarrena Arellano (Azkoien, 1924ko urtarrilaren 25a - Uterga, 2020ko apirilaren 20a) euskal herritar eskultore, etnografo eta sustatzaile kulturala izan zen.[1][2]

Biografia

Gerra zibilaren hasieran hamaika urte besterik ez zituela, matxinoek 46 urtezko aita eta 15 urtezko lehengusina erail zituzten. Gudak zeharo markatu zuen bere bizitza.[3]

Iruñeko Arte eta Lanbide Eskolan eskulturagintza ikasi ondoren, 1945 eta 1947 artean Burgosen Valeriano Martínez eta Eulogio Valladolidekin batera lan egin zuen. 1950ean beka lortu eta Parisera joan zen Arte Ederretako Eskolan ikastera, Marcel Gimond irakaslea izanik.

Frankismoaren aurkako bere jarrera zela eta, Venezuelan eman zituen zazpi urte, non lan erlijiosoak lantzeaz gain Caracasko Euskal Etxean sustatzaile aritu zuen. Etxera itzuli eta Piarres Nafarroakoa Mariskala Fundazioa sortu zuen 1964an, Nafarroako Etnografia Museoa sortu zuena, hasieran Berriobeitin, eta gero Artetan (Ollaran).[4]
