Gizon belarjalea (草食(系)男子 Sōshoku (-kei) danshi) Japoniako gizarte fenomenoa da. Horren arabera gizonezkoek ezkontza edo ezkongai-harremanak arbuiatzean dituzte. Diru aurrezle eta haien berezko arreta pertsonalean interesatuak dira baina, aldiz, sexuarekiko interesik ez dute, baztertu dute. Erakunde askoren ustez fenomeno hori herrialdean ematen ari den jaiotze-tasa baxuaren jatorri bat izan daiteke.[1]

Estatistiken arabera fenomeno garrantzitsua da. 2010eko irailean, 16 eta 19 urte bitarteko gizon japoniarren %36 modu horretatik jasotzen ziren.[2] Gainera, 20 eta 30 urte bitarteko gizon ezkongabeen artean egindako bi ikasketatan aurkitu zen %61ek eta %70ek, hurrenez hurren, gizon belarjaleak gisa ikusten dutela haien buruak. Fukasawaren arabera, sōshoku danshiak gizonak dira "ez harreman erromantikorik gabeak, baina jarrera ez-asertiboa dutenak, haragiaren edo sexuaren desirarekiko axolagabeak." Geroago, Masahiro Morioka filosofoak sōshoku-kei danshi berriro definitu zuen "belaunaldi berri bateko mutil onak" direla, "Haragia modu oldarkorrean bilatzen ez dutenak, baizik eta beste sexuarekin batera belarra jatea nahiago dutenak".
