Sekreta polico

Sekreta polico (aŭ politika polico)[1] estas formita per spionaj, sekurecaj aŭ policaj agentejoj kiuj kovras operacojn kontraŭ politikaj opoziciantoj kaj disidentoj. Organizoj de sekreta polico estas karakteraj de totalismaj reĝimoj.[2] Uzita por protekti la politikan povon de individua diktatoro aŭ aŭtoritatisma reĝimo, la sekreta polico ofte funkcias ekster la leĝaro kaj estas uzata por subpremi disidentojn kaj malfortigi la politikan opozicion, ofte per perforto.[3]

Kiam la politika reĝimo plutenas ŝajnigon de popola libereco kaj respekto al la homaj rajtoj la sekretaj policanoj vestas senuniforme. Kiam la diktaturo estas klara, la politika polico ne bezonas tiun maskon, kaj uzas ĝin nur por surprizi arestotojn. En plej akraj reĝimoj la sekreta polico turnas sin al torturo kaj murdo, foje eĉ al genocido kaj malaperigo.
