Penyiar radio

Penyiar radio atau angkasawan (juga dikenal sebagai presenter radio atau radio jockey) adalah petugas penyiaran radio yang menyiarkan suaranya melalui transmisi radio. Seorang penyiar radio memperkenalkan dan membahas berbagai hal seperti musik, mengadakan wawancara yang turut melibatkan panggilan pendengar, atau menyampaikan berita, ramalan cuaca, perkembangan olahraga atau informasi lalu lintas.^[1]

Dengan pengecualian pada stasiun radio kecil atau daerah pedesaan, sebagian besar dari apa yang didengar di radio saat ini adalah daftar putar yang dikendalikan oleh komputer, yang menyiarkan berkas audio .mp3. Berkas audio ini merupakan sumber dari lagu-lagu, iklan, dan separuh waktu siaran di mana penyiar radio sendiri telah merekam suara dirinya saat "jeda". Penyiar radio yang profesional biasanya tidak permanen dalam satu stasiun radio sepanjang hayat kariernya; sebaliknya, mereka berpindah-pindah dari satu stasiun ke stasiun lain.^[2]

Persyaratan pekerjaan

Posisi penyiar radio pada umumnya memiliki persyaratan sebagai berikut:^[3]^[4]

Suara yang baik dan jelas dengan nada dan artikulasi suara yang mumpuni
Kemampuan komunikasi yang baik dan kreativitas untuk berinteraksi dengan pendengar
Berpengetahuan luas terhadap isu terkini dan tren sosial
"Berpikir di luar kotak"
Kemampuan untuk mengembangkan gaya mereka sendiri
Rasa humor yang tinggi

Penyiar radio di Indonesia

Penyiar radio pada masa kemerdekaan memainkan peran penting dalam menyebarkan berita Proklamasi Kemerdekaan Republik Indonesia. Para penyiar dari Radio Republik Indonesia seperti Jusuf Ronodipuro, Bachtiar Lubis, dan Suprapto berperan besar dalam menyiarkan berita proklamasi kemerdekaan tersebut.^[5]

Saat ini, penyiar radio lebih berfokus pada mewartakan informasi terkini, memutarkan sejumlah lagu pada saat jam-jam tertentu dan berdialog dengan pendengar.
