i want information about these abtraction, like what is the meaning or idea behind the the abstraction

Image:Cidades-anos90-ParquedeSPaulo.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

"Thus, it has been suggested that geometric abstraction might function as a solution to problems concerning the need for modernist painting to reject the illusionistic practices of the past while addressing the inherently two dimensional nature of the picture plane as well as the canvas functioning as its support."

This has to be the most obfuscating sentence on this page. What "problems concerning the need for modernist painting to reject the illusionistic practices of the past" are being referred to here? This sentence is so poorly structured that it is difficult to follow with just one reading, which is just bad writing. Maybe a few sentences discussing why there is a "need for modernist painting to reject the illusionistic practices of the past" could be added? For example:

"Thus, it has been suggested that Geometric Abstraction might function as a solution to certain Modernist painting problems, while addressing the two-dimensional nature of the picture plane and the supporting canvas. Specifically, the Modernist painting problems in question regard the need to reject the illusionistic practices of the past as with/such as (insert examples here) because (insert reasons here)."

Can a Geometric Abstract artist or art expert interject here?
