In 1800, the arrondissements of Alençon, Argentan, Domfront and Mortagne-au-Perche were established. The arrondissements of Domfront and Mortagne-au-Perche were disbanded in 1926, and Then, Mortagne-au-Perche was restored in 1942.[2]
