Die Potamonautinae sind eine Unterfamilie der Krabben, die in Tropen Afrikas und auf Madagaskar vorkommen. Sie sind Süßwasserkrabben oder terrestrisch lebend.[1]

Merkmale

Unterscheidungsmerkmal zu den Liberonautinae ist, dass am vorderen Seitenrand zwischen exorbitalen und epibranchialen Zahn kein Zwischenzahn ausgebildet ist. Zudem ist das zweite Gonopodium verlängert und die Geißel am Exopodit des dritten Maxillipeden unterscheidet sich in der Länge vom Exopodit selbst.[1]
