Die Itä-Länsi-sarja 1938 war die dritte offizielle Spielzeit der zweithöchsten finnischen Fußballliga.

Modus

Die 26 Mannschaften waren in vier Gruppen (Südost, Nordost, Südwest und Nordwest) eingeteilt. Die Teams spielten an acht bzw. zwölf Spieltagen jeweils zweimal gegeneinander. Die vier Gruppensieger ermittelten in Play-offs den Meister, der in die Mestaruussarja 1939 aufstieg. Das zweitbeste Team konnte sich im Duell mit dem 7. der Mestaruussarja auch ebenfalls die erste Liga aufsteigen.
