Acanthocyclus ist eine Gattung mariner Krabben aus der Unterfamilie Belliinae mit drei Arten.[1] Sie besiedeln die Gezeitenzone zwischen Hoch- und Niedrigwasserlinie (intertidal) im tropischen Ostpazifik und in den gemäßigten Breiten Südamerikas.[2]

Merkmale

Der Carapax ist bis zu 26 mm lang. Er ist oval, konvex und etwas breiter als lang. Die Stirn ist dreilappig. Der vordere Seitenrand ist mit vier Zähnen oder Lappen bewehrt. Die Augenhöhle ist halbkreisförmig. Das Pterygostom ist von oben nicht sichtbar.[2]
