La Pobla d'Albortón (La Puebla de Albortón en castellano) ye un municipio de la provincia de Zaragoza, situau en la comarca de Campo de Belchit. La suya población ye de 136 habitants, en una superficie de 76,3 km².

Cheografía

Ye situau a piet de la plana de María y a lo suyo sud-este, a lo sud de pui Cervero y lo cabezo d'el Vuitre, a l'ueste de pueyo Alto, y a lo nord-este de sierra Gorda.

En la plana de las Canteras bi ha una pedrera de calsinera micritica ornamental d'edat churasica. La piedra de la Pobla d'Albortón ye de color amariella-salmón con vetas royas u rosas por bioturbación.[1][2]

Se creye que la ciudat Ebora de los sedetans yera en lo termin municipal de la Pobla d'Albortón.

Toponimia

Lo toponimo La Pobla d'Abortón encara s'escribiba asinas en lo fogache de 1495. Entre los suyos microtoponimos con component aragonés tenemos Foz de Zafrané. La palabra Albortón se pareix tanto a Abortón[3]/Albortón referiu a albortos de las uellas, (probablement por homonimia), como a variants de lo fitonimo alborcera, derivaus de lo latín ARBUTUS (arbetón en Agüero y Alborzo en Rodellar). En atras comarcas y puestos los toponimos remataus en -ón s'interpretan como embotadas de terratenients hispanorromanos.
