Sungai Kamundan adalah sebuah sungai di Papua Barat, Indonesia.[1][2] Sungai Kamundan masih alami dengan hulu yang berada di kabupaten Manokwari dan muaranya di perbatasan Teluk Bintuni dan kabupaten Sorong Selatan.[3]

Geografi

Sungai ini mengalir di wilayah barat pulau Papua yang beriklim hutan hujan tropis (kode: Af menurut klasifikasi iklim Köppen-Geiger).[4] Suhu rata-rata setahun sekitar 24 °C. Bulan terpanas adalah Januari, dengan suhu rata-rata 26 °C, and terdingin Februari, sekitar 22 °C.[5] Curah hujan rata-rata tahunan adalah 3744 mm. Bulan dengan curah hujan tertinggi adalah Juni, dengan rata-rata 484 mm, dan yang terendah Oktober, rata-rata 153 mm.[6]

Ekologi

Sungai Kamundan tenang dengan pepohonan di kiri dan kanan sungai. Sungai ini merupakan sungai yang memiliki panjang yang luas dengan air yang tenang dan jernih. Beberapa spesies yang dapat ditemui di sekitar sungai Kamundan ini antara lain adalah buaya muara, primata, sejenis rangkong, kakatua jambul kuning, dan kelelawar.[3]
