Pertanian di Filipina mempekerjakan 27.7% dari tenaga kerja Filipina hingga 2017, menurut Bank Dunia [1]

Filipina adalah produsen beras terbesar ke-8 di dunia, menyumbang 2,8% dari produksi beras dunia.[2] Filipina juga merupakan importir beras terbesar di dunia pada tahun 2010.[3] Pada tahun 2010, hampir 15,7 juta metrik ton gabah (beras pra-kulit) diproduksi.[4] Pada 2010, gabah menyumbang 21,86% dari nilai tambah bruto di bidang pertanian dan 2,37% dari GNP.[5] Swasembada beras mencapai 88,93% pada 2015.[6]

Produksi beras di Filipina telah tumbuh secara signifikan sejak 1950-an. Peningkatan varietas padi yang dikembangkan selama Revolusi Hijau, termasuk di International Rice Research Institute yang berbasis di Filipina telah meningkatkan hasil panen. Hasil panen juga meningkat karena meningkatnya penggunaan pupuk. Produktivitas rata-rata meningkat dari 1,23 metrik ton per hektar pada tahun 1961 menjadi 3,59 metrik ton per hektar pada tahun 2009.[2]

Hasil Panen telah meningkat secara signifikan dengan menggunakan pupuk foliar (Rc 62 -> meningkatkan 27%, Rc 80 -> meningkatkan 40%, Rc 64 -> meningkatkan 86%) berdasarkan PhilRice National Averages.
