Hatu adalah negeri di Kecamatan Leihitu Barat, Kabupaten Maluku Tengah, Provinsi Maluku, Indonesia.

Etimologi

Nama Hatu dalam bahasa tana berarti 'batu', merujuk pada morfologi daerah pertuanan negeri yang berbatu-batu.

Sejarah

Terbentuknya Negeri Hatu berkaitan erat dengan migrasi manusia dari daerah-daerah lain ke Pulau Ambon. Matarumah dalam Soa Souhuat dipercaya seluruhnya berasal dari Pulau Seram dan mereka adalah penduduk asli Hatu, yang sata itu bermukim di pedalaman pulau yang berbukit-bukit. Kedatangan penduduk dari Pulau Seram nanti diikuti oleh gelombang migrasi lainnya, yang menjadi cikal bakal dua soa lain di negeri ini. Tercatat, Lenahatu berasal dari Pelauw dan berketurunan dari matarumah Latuconsina; Risamasu berasal dari Ternate dan Picaulima dari Sula.[1]

Peristiwa

Pada 14 Februari 2018, Presiden Joko Widodo menyerahkan 4.500 sertifikat hak atas tanah untuk masyarakat Kota Ambon dan Maluku Tengah di Hatu.[2]

Kelembagaan

Raja

Matarumah parentah di negeri ini adalah matarumah atau fam Hehalatu, yang menjabat sebagai raja turun-temurun.[1]

Soa

Masyarakat Negeri Hatu tersusun ke dalam tiga soa yang masing-masing menghimpun beberapa matarumah. Matarumah yang terhimpun tersebut berstatus sebagai anggota atau anak soa. Soa di Hatu meliputi:[1]

  • Soa Souhuat, dengan anggota-anggotanya sebagai berikut.
  1. Salamahu
  2. Hehamoni
  3. Tipawael
  4. Risteru (Lesteru)
  5. Palain (matarumah ini dinyatakan lenyap)
  • Soa Hatulessy, dengan anggota-anggotanya sebagai berikut.
  1. Lenahatu (Lena-Lena Latuconsina)
  2. Picaulima (Pikallima)
  3. Hehalatu (Hallatu)
  4. Manuputty (Mamputty)
  • Soa Malupang, dengan anggota-anggotanya sebagai berikut.
  1. Risamasu (Risanusu)
  2. Tahuli

Soa Souhuat bercirikan Uli Siwa, sedangkan dua soa lainnya bercirikan Uli Lima.[1]

Jabatan-jabatan Adat

Matarumah Risamasu berkedudukan sebagai kepala tanah atau tuan negeri. Matarumah ini juga memegang jabatan kapitan turun-temurun, dengan malesi-nya Picaulima.[3]

Hubungan sosial

Hatu ber-pela dengan Wakasihu[4] dan terikat gandong dengan Negeri Lima.[5]
