Bontolebang adalah sebuah kelurahan di Kecamatan Galesong Utara, Kabupaten Takalar. Awalnya, Bontolebang berstatus desa tetapi diubah menjadi kelurahan pada tahun 2007. Pada tahun 2016, jumlah penduduk di Kelurahan Bontolebang sebanyak 5.743 orang.

Wilayah

Kelurahan Bontolebang adalah satu-satunya kelurahan di Kecamatan Galesong Utara, Kabupaten Takalar.^[1] Kelurahan Bontolebang adalah ibu kota Kecamatan Galesong Utara.^[2] Pada awalnya, Bontolebang merupakan sebuah desa yang kemudian diubah statusnya menjadi kelurahan. Pengubahan status ini berdasarkan Pasal 2 pada Peraturan Daerah Kabpaten Takalar Nomor 04 Tahun 2007 tentang Pembentukan Kelurahan Bontolebang Kecamatan Galesong Utara. Peraturan ini ditetapkan karena Desa Bontolebang sudah memenuhi syarat untuk menjadi kelurahan ditinjau dari jumlah penduduk dan kepala keluarga yang ada di wilayahnya. Empat dusun di wilayah Desa Bontolebang yang awalnya diberi nama dusun, ikut diganti menjadi lingkungan. Masing-masing yaitu Lingkungan Bontolebang, Lingkungan Bontomajannang, Lingkungan Bontopa’ja dan Lingkungan Tabaringan.^[3]

Bagian barat Desa Bontolebang berbatasan dengan Desa Tamalate.^[4]

Penduduk

Kelurahan Bontolebang memiliki jumlah penduduk terbanyak di Kecamatan Galesong Utara pada tahun 2016. Penduduknya sebanyak 5.743 orang.^[5]
