İDO Istanbul Fast Ferries Co. Inc. (bahasa Turki: İstanbul Deniz Otobüsleri, yang artinya Bus Air Istanbul) didirikan pada 1987 oleh Munisipalitas Metropolitan Istanbul. Aslinya didirikan dengan armada 10 bus air yang dibangun oleh galangan kapal Kvaerner Fjellstrand di Norwegia, saat ini İDO memiliki armada 25 bus air (dengan kapasitas rata-rata dari 350 sampai 450 penumpang) yang dirancang oleh Kvaerner Fjellstrand, Austal dan Damen Group; 10 feri mobil kecepatan tinggi (1200 penumpang dan 225 kendaraan) yang dirancang oleh Austal dan Damen Group; 18 feri mobil; 32 feri komuter; dan 1 kapal penumpang besar.[1] Pada saat ini, İDO merupakan operator feri komuter terbesar di dunia dengan 87 kapal penumpangnya dan 86 pier.[1] The company owns a total of 103 ships including its service vessels.[1]

Pada 2011, perusahaan tersebut diprivatisasi selama 30 tahun oleh Munisipalitas Metropolitan Istanbul.[2][3]
