Ài piàⁿ chiah ē iâⁿ (愛拚才會贏), sering dilafalkan orang Tionghoa-Indonesia sebagai Ai pia cia e ya adalah sebuah lagu Pop Taiwan berbahasa Hokkien yang dibawakan oleh penyanyi Taiwan Ia̍p Khé-tiân (Yeh Chi-tien).[1] Lagu ini dirilis pada tahun 1985 di Taiwan menandai bangkitnya kembali era Pop Taiwan pada dekade 80-an.[1]

Arti dan kandungan lagu

Dalam bahasa Inggris, judul lagu ini dapat diterjemahkan sebagai Fighting to Win[1] ("berjuang untuk menang") atau No Pain No Gain[2] ("tiada hasil tanpa pengorbanan"). Sementara dalam bahasa Hokkien secara harafiah dapat diterjemahkan sebagai harus berjuang barulah akan berhasil.

Lirik lagu ini menjadi populer di kalangan penutur bahasa Hokkien di Taiwan, Tiongkok maupun Asia Tenggara karena dianggap mencerminkan etos kerja komunitas Hokkien yang tinggal di negara-negara tersebut.[2] Penggalan lirik yang berbunyi "三分天注定 七分靠拍拚 ; saⁿ-hun thiⁿ chù-tiāⁿ, chhit-hun khò phah-piàⁿ" (nasib 30 persen Tuhan yang menentukan, sisanya 70 persen adalah kerja keras) menjadi kalimat inspiratif bagi orang-orang Hokkien dalam bekerja keras serta pantang menyerah dalam menghadapi tantangan.[2]

Kepopuleran di Singapura

Lagu Ài piàⁿ chiah ē iâⁿ juga dianggap mewakili pesan-pesan yang ingin disampaikan para politikus di Singapura, negara yang mempunyai mayoritas etnis Tionghoa penutur bahasa Hokkien.[3] Bahkan para politikus Singapura memakai lagu ini dalam kampanye-kampanye politik mereka.[3] Dalam sebuah pidato langsung yang ditayangkan pada tanggal 7 Juli 2020, Menteri Senior Singapura Tharman Shanmugaratnam menyebutkan lagu Ài piàⁿ chiah ē iâⁿ (To Win, You Have to Fight) bersama penggalan liriknya yang terkenal "If you think of the most popular Hokkien song over the decades — maybe even today — Ai Pia Cia Eh Yia, the most interesting ditty within the song: 'What happens in life is determined 30 per cent by the will of the heavens, and 70 per cent of hard work' — or in those days, bitter, hard struggle."
