NGC 4565（也稱為針星系或科德韋爾38），位於星座后髮座，是一個以側面朝向我們的螺旋星系，距離約在3,000萬至5,000萬光年之間[2]。它位於北銀極附近，視星等約為10等。他因為狹窄的外型而被稱為「針狀星系」[4]。它於1785年首次被威廉·赫歇爾記錄，是以邊緣朝向我們的螺旋星系的一個突出例子[5]。
