Asmera (Asmara) – Eritreyaning poytaxti. Dengiz sathidan 2300 m balandlikda. Aholisi 344 ming kishi (1989). Mamlakatning yirik savdo-sanoat va transport markazi. Aeroporti xalqaro ahamiyatga ega. Avtomobil yoʻllari tuguni. Kimyo, oziq-ovqat, toʻqimachilik, keramika, metallsozlik korxonalari mavjud. Qurilish materiallari ishlab chiqariladi. Universitet bor.[1]
