Vassilis Alexakis (Yunanca: Βασίλης Αλεξάκης; 25 Aralık 1943, Atina - 11 Ocak 2021, Atina, Yunanistan), Yunan-Fransız yazar ve çevirmen.

Yaşamı

Alexakis 25 Aralık 1943'te Atina, Yunanistan'da doğdu. Yunanca birçok romanı Fransızcaya çevirdi.

1974'te Le Sandwich adlı Fransızca dilinde yazılmış ilk kitabını yayımladı. Doğrudan Yunanca yazdığı ilk kitabı; Talgo 1981 yılında yayınlanmış daha sonra[1] Fransızcaya çevirmiştir.[2]

2006 yılında Les mots étrangers adlı Fransızca yazdığı kitabı Alyson Waters tarafından Foreign Words adıyla İngilizce diline çevirilen ilk çalışmasıydı.

1995'te La langue maternelle adlı eseriyle prestijli Médicis Ödülü'nü alırken yazar 2007'de Fransız Akademisi Edebiyat Büyük Ödülü'ne layık görüldü.[3]

Ölümü

Alexakis 11 Ocak 2021'de doğum yeri Atina, Yunanistan'da 77 yaşında öldü.[4]
