Hayatı

İlk yılları

Bier iki öğretmenin çocuğu olarak Fort Lauderdale, Florida'da dünyaya geldi. Çocukluğunda hiperaktivite problemleri yüzünden Ritalin kullanmaktaydı. Altı sene üniversite okuyan Bier, endüstri mühendisliğinden mezun oldu. Üniversiteden sonra NASA'da bir işe başvurdu ancak daha sonra Marilyn Manson & the Spooky Kids'e klavyeci olarak katılma kararı aldı.

Marilyn Manson

Marilyn Manson'a katılana kadar hiç keyboard çalmamış Bier, kısa sürede bu enstrümanı öğrenirken sahne adını da şarkıcı Madonna ve seri katil John Wayne Gacy'den alarak "Madonna Wayne Gacy" yaptı ancak iki ismin de kendi karakterini yansıtmadığını düşünmeyerek John Wayne Gacy'ın alter ego'su "Pogo" lakabını da kullanmaya başladı.

Gacy, Marilyn Manson'ın sound'unu oluşturan birçok yan sesin de yaratıcısıydı. Kabbala ve nümeroloji ile ilgilenen Gacy, bu ilgisini Manson'ın müziğine ve albümlerine yansıtabildi.[1] Gacy, grubun altıncı albümü Eat Me, Drink Me'nin kayıtlarına dahil edilmedi ve albüm Marilyn Manson'ın ilk Gacy'siz yayınladığı materyal oldu. Albüm kayıtlarından sonra da Gacy'nin gruptan ayrıldığı ve konserlerde yerinin Chris Vrenna ile doldurulacağı açıklandı.

Sonraki yıllar

2 Ağustos 2007'de Bier, ödenmemiş maaşları nedeniyle Manson'a dava açtı. Bier'ın iddialarına göre Manson, grubun kazandığı parayı kendi özel hayatındaki harcamalar için kullanmaktaydı ve buna karşı çıkan Bier'ı gruptan kovmaya karar vermişti.[2] 19 Aralık 2007'de ise Manson, Bier'a karşı bir dava açtı.[3] İkili daha sonra mahkeme dışında anlaştı ve Bier'a 380,000$'lık bir ödeme yapıldı.[4]

Bier, Manson'dan ayrıldıktan sonra Brian Diemar ile vokalisti olduğu MMII adlı bir grup kurdu[5] ve Haziran 2011'de Delta-9 adlı bir albüm yayınladı. Ses getirmeyen bu proje kısa süre sonra bitirildi.
