Francesco Iachello (İtalyanca telaffuz: [franˈtʃesko jaˈkɛllo]; d. 11 Ocak 1942, Francofonte), İtalyan nükleer mühendis ve teorik fizikçidir. Ana dalları nükleer ve moleküler fiziktir. Çalışma arkadaşı Akito Arima ile birlikte, etkileşen bozon modelini bulmuştur.

Biyografisi

Iachello, biri 1964'te Torino'daki politeknik enstitüsünde nükleer teknoloji mühendisliği ve diğeri ise 1969'da MIT Teorik Fizik Merkezinde fizik alanlarında olmak üzere iki doktora yaptı. 1978'den beri Yale Üniversitesinde fizik ve kimya profesörlüğü yapmaktadır.

Son zamanlarda, cebir yöntemleriyle moleküllerin (mesela kuantum faz geçişleri, polimer dinamiği) kuantum mekanik dinamiğinin araştırılması üzerinde çalıştı. Bu konudaki araştırmalarına 1981 yılındaki Vibron modelinden beri devam ediyordu.[1][2]
