2011 Irak protestoları

2011 Irak protestoları, Irak'ta Irak Savaşı'nın başladığı 2003 yılından beridir süren şiddetin ortasında gerçekleşen 2010-2011 Arap dünyası protestolarının bir parçası olan protesto gösterileri. Gösterilerde 6 kişi öldü, 140 kişi yaralandı.

Protestolar

İsrailli Haaretz gazetesi, Musul'da 31 yaşındaki bir adamın işsizlik yüzünden kendini yaktığını bildirdi. Haaretz ayrıca 25 Şubat günü Bağdat'ta Yeşil Bölge yakınlarında bir "Irak Gazabı Devrimi" adlı bir protesto düzenleneceğini belirtti.[1]

12 Şubat

Olası bir huzursuzluğu önlemek için Irak başbakanı Nuri el-Maliki, daha önce 2014 yılında üçüncü kez aday olmayacağını açıklamıştı.[2] Buna rağmen, 12 Şubat günü yüzlerce gösterici Bağdat ve Kerbela başta olmak üzere ülkenin büyük şehirlerinde toplandı ve ulusal güvenlik ile federal yolsuzluk konularına daha etkili bir yaklaşımda bulunulmasını isteyerek hükûmetin kamu hizmetlerini adil ve kolay ulaşılır hale getirmesi yönündeki isteklerini de dile getirdi.[3][4][5] Buna cevaben, Irak hükûmeti elektrik fiyatlarını düşürdü.[6]

16-18 Şubat

16 Şubat günü 2000 civarı gösterici Kut kentindeki bir il konseyi binasını ele geçirdi. Göstericiler elektrik ve su eksikliği yüzünden valinin istifasını istedi. En fazla üç kişinin öldüğü ve 30 kadar kişinin yaralandığı bildirildi.

17 Şubat günü Süleymaniye'deki hükûmet binalarına göstericilerin yaptığı saldırılarda iki kişi öldü.[7]

18 Şubat günü bin kadar gösterici Basra'daki bir köprüde trafiği kapattı ve valinin istifasını istedi.[8]

21 Şubat

21 Şubat günü Irak Kürdistan Özerk Bölgesi'nde bulunan Süleymaniye'de Mesut Barzani'nin liderliğindeki bölgenin iktidar partisi Kürdistan Demokrat Partisi'ne karşı gösteriler düzenlendi. Gösterilerde polisle göstericiler arasında çatışma çıktı, bir genç vurularak öldü.[9] Yaralı sayısı bazı kaynaklarda 39,[9] bazı kaynaklarda ise 14[10] olarak belirtildi, Süleymaniye ili sağlık müdürü ise yaralı sayısının 48 olduğunu açıkladı.[11] Irak hükûmeti ileride yapılacak gösterilerin önüne geçeceğini açıkladı.[11]
