Nabi Tajima

Nabi Tajima (田島 ナビ, Tajima Nabi, August 4, 1900 – April, 21 2018)^[2][3] was the second-oldest Japanese person ever (behind Kane Tanaka) at the age of 117 years, 260 days. She was also the oldest living person for 7 months.^[1] At the time of her death, she was the oldest Japanese person ever and the oldest person ever from Asia. She was also the last confirmed person that was alive during the 19th century.^[4] She was the last member of Lost Generation.

Tajima became the oldest living person in Japan in 2015 upon the death of an 115-year-old anonymous woman.^[1] She became the world's oldest confirmed living person in 2017 following the death of Violet Brown.^[5] She was aged 117 years, 189 days.

She was the first child and Eldest daughter born in Araki in the westernmost part of Kikaijima Island. She lived in Kikai, Kikaijima Island, and Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan. She had 7 sons and 2 daughters.^[6]

As of 2011, she had 28 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren and 35 great-great-grandchildren.^[7] As of 2017, she had over 160 descendants, including her great-great grandchildren.^[6]

She died from natural causes on April 21, 2018 in a Japanese hospital in Kikai, Kagoshima, Japan at the age of 117 years, 260 days.^[8] It was later confirmed that she had been in a hospital since 3 months.
