Toma Bakač

Kardinal Toma Bakač (1435.- 11. lipnja 1521.) je bio državni kancelar i upravitelj Zagrebačke i Senjske biskupije, jurski biskup, egerski i ostrogonski nadbiskup, ugarski primas .

Školovao se u Poljskoj i Italiji.

Uspon u crkvenoj hijerarhiji je počeo u Juri, gdje je bio biskupom. Poslije je postao nadbiskup u Egeru i Ostrogonu, a dobio je i naslov primasa Ugarske.

1500. je imenovan za kardinala. 7 godina poslije stječe naslov carigradskog latinskog patrijarha.

Dao je podići kulu koja se zove po njemu, Bakačeva kula. Kula je bila namijenjena za obranu od Turaka.

Značajnom je osobom u stvaranju protuturske Cambraiske lige 1513..

U Hrvatskoj je imao velik broj posjeda. Njegova rodbina je uzela prezime Erdödy, koja je bila jednom od najznačajnijih plemenitaških obitelji u hrvatskoj novovjekovnoj povijesti.
