Императрица Кокэн (яп. 孝謙天皇 Ко:кэн-тэнно:, 718 – 28 августа 770 года), также известная по своему второму правлению как Императрица Сётоку (яп. 称徳天皇 Сёто:ку-тэнно:) — 46-я и 48-я императрица Японии согласно традиционно принятой последовательности императоров[1]. Шестая из восьми правящих императриц и одна из двух правителей в истории Японии с двумя периодами царствования (другим была 35-я и 37-я императрица Когёку/Саймэй (594—661)).

Традиционная биография

После отречения императора Сёму и ухода в религию, императрицей в 749 г. стала его дочь Кокэн. В 758 году императрица Кокэн отреклась в пользу Дзюннина, внука Тэмму. Она отошла в тень, но продолжала пользоваться властью.
