Император Ёмэй (яп. 用明天皇 ё:мэй тэнно:) — 31-й император Японии, правивший с 3 октября 585 по 21 августа 587 года[1]. Личное имя — Татибана-но тоёхи[1]. Прозвание — Оэ[1].

Биография

Император Ёмэй взошёл на трон в период между осенью 585 и весной 587 года, по другим данным — в 586 году, после смерти своего сводного брата, императора Бидацу. Был четвёртым сыном императора Киммэя и Китаси-химэ, отцом которой был Сога-но Инамэ, представитель клана Сога. Ёмэй — отец принца Сётоку, национального героя Японии[2].

Ёмэй терпимо относился к распространению в Японии буддизма, что вызывало протесты со стороны приверженцев традиционной религии — синтоизма и вело к возникновению оппозиций и заговоров, в которых принимал участие даже брат императора, принц Анахобэ.
