Азербайджанская тепловая электростанция (ТЭС, азерб. Azərbaycan İstilik Elektrik Stansiyası) — нефтяная электростанция в Мингячевирском районе, состоящая из 8 энергоблоков мощностью 300 МВт каждый[2].

Является крупнейшей тепловой электростанцией в Южно-Кавказском регионе[3].

Строительство

Строительство электростанции началось в 1974 году[4]. Первый энергоблок общей мощностью 2400 мегаватт был сдан в эксплуатацию 20 октября 1981 года[5], восьмой — в 1990 году[6].

Установки вводились в эксплуатацию поэтапно с 1981 по 1990 год и строились установками ЛМЗ «Россия» (турбины), «Электросила» (генераторы), Таганрог (котельные). Источником охлаждающей воды является Карабахский канал.

Высота дымовых труб завода составляет 320 метров[7].

Строительство новой электростанции и реконструкция

13 февраля 2023 года на территории ТЭС начато строительство новой электростанции мощностью 1280 МВт[8]. Строительство осуществляется местными компаниями. Контроль ведётся компанией «AFRY[англ.]». Проектирование осуществляет испанская компания «IDOM[англ.]». Газовые турбины и генераторы для новой электростанции производятся итальянской компанией «Ansaldo Energia[англ.]»[9].

Кроме того, осуществляется модернизация паровых турбин 7-го и 8-го энергоблоков ТЭС.
