Sărățeni, colocvial Șovard, (în maghiară Sóvárad, în trad. "Cetatea Sării") este satul de reședință al comunei cu același nume din județul Mureș, Transilvania, România.

Sărățeni se află la aproximativ 7 km de stațiunea Sovata.

Istoric

Conform Repertoriului Arheologic Național al Ministerului Culturii, în punctul numit Cetatea lui Csombod (Cetatea Ciombod), pe un bot de deal la V-N-V de Sărățeni și la N de DJ Sărățeni - Sîngeorgiu de Pădure s-au făcut următoarele descoperiri[1][2][3][4]:
