Novo Acordo é um município brasileiro do estado do Tocantins. Localiza-se a uma latitude 09º57'46" sul e a uma longitude 47º40'38" oeste, estando a uma altitude de 205 metros. Sua população estimada em 2021 era de 4450 habitantes e sua área municipal é 2671,88 km².

História

O município de Novo Acordo está localizado na Mesorregião Oriental do Tocantins e Microrregião do Jalapão. Ele surgiu no local onde existiu uma fazenda de criação de gado em uma região de garimpo e agricultura.

No ano de 1947, José Dourados e seu irmão Manoel de Souza Dourados fundaram o primeiro comércio desta área, este comercio floresceu e dele surgiu o povoado de Dourados. Em 1953 o povoado foi elevado a categoria de Distrito, sendo nomeado como "Distrito de Novo Acordo" e em 14 de novembro de 1958 ele foi elevado a categoria de município[6].
