Åsane prosti

Åsane prosti, inntil 2014 benevnt Arna og Åsane prosti, er et tjenestedistrikt i Bjørgvin bispedømme i Den norske kirke tilsluttet Bergen kirkelige fellesråd. Det omfatter Osterøy kommune og bydelene Arna og Åsane i Bergen kommune, samt Ytre Sandviken i Bergenhus bydel i Bergen, med til sammen 67 000 innbyggere 1. januar 2015. Prosten har sete i Åsane.[1]

Åsane og Arna prosti ble etablert i 1990 da prestegjeldene Arna, Ytre Arna, Biskopshavn, Eidsvåg, Salhus og Åsane ble fradelt Bergen domprosti.[2] I 2014 ble kirkesognene på Osterøy overført til prostiet fra Nordhordland prosti, som deretter fikk navnet Åsane prosti. I tillegg ligger prestetjenesten ved Bergen fengsel og Bjørgvin fengsel under Åsane prosti. To prestestillinger er definert som fengselsprester. [3] Fra 1. juni 2015 endret prostiet navn fra Arna og Åsane prosti til Åsane prosti.[4] Målformen i Åsane prosti er todelt. De fem sognene på Osterøy, samt Arna og Ytre Arna sogn har nynorsk som liturgisk målform. De øvrige sogn har bokmål.
