Valget i Tyskland 1933

Valget i Tyskland 1933 som ble avholdt 5. mars dette året, var det åttende riksdagsvalget under Weimarrepublikken. Valget ble ikke fritt gjennomført, idet en rekke demokratiske rettigheter som ytrings- og pressefriheten, var innskrenket. Det var det siste riksdagsvalget som foregikk med flere partier.

Valget foregikk kort tid etter Riksdagsbrannen (natta mellom 27. og 28. februar). Adolf Hitler fikk deretter president Paul von Hindenburg til å undertegne Riksdagsbrannforordningen.[1] Denne innebar opphevelse av en rekke demokratiske rettigheter nedfelt i Weimarforfatningen. Det ble blant annet innført innskrenkninger i den personlige frihet, ytringsfriheten, pressefriheten og forenings- og forsamlingsfriheten. Videre ble en rekke politikere arrestert rett før valget, som ble overvåket av SS, SA og Stahlhelm. Til tross for dette, fikk NSDAP en langt lavere framgang i valgene enn hva som var forventet på forhånd, som var rent flertall.

En følge av valget var at NSDAP fikk presset igjennom Nasjonalsosialistenes fullmaktslov som i realiteten gjorde Hitler til diktator.

NSDAP var det største partiet i 33 av 35 valgkretser, Deutsche Zentrumspartei vant to kretser i vest
NSDAP gjorde det best i nord og øst. Jo mørkere farge, desto større stemmeandel
