Sylvester Groth (født 31. mars 1958) er en tysk skuespiller. Han har hatt en omfattende karriere og er kjent både for tyske og internasjonale publikum.

Groth er den yngste av fem søsken fra Jerichow (Sachsen-Anhalt) i den tidligere tyske demokratiske republikken, hvor han også tilbrakte barndommen. Familien hans er fra Øvre Schlesien. Groths far døde mens han fortsatt var ung, og moren giftet seg en gang til. Da han var 14 år gammel flyttet familien til Leipzig. I 1986 rømte han fra Øst-Tyskland til Vest-Tyskland.

Han studerte skuespill og sang ved Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts i Berlin. Dette ble fulgt av engasjementer i Schwerin, Dresden og Berlin, hvor han jobbet som gjesteskuespiller ved Deutsches Theatre og fra 1986 til 1989 på Schaubühne. Han jobbet også på Residenz Theatre, München Kammerspiele, Berliner Ensemble, Burgtheater i Wien og Salzburg-festivalen.

Groth er kjent for engelskspråklige publikum for å ha vist seg i Quentin Tarantinos film fra 2009 Inglourious Basterds, der han også portretterte Goebbels. Senest har han hatt en ledende rolle i Netflix-serien Dark as Clausen, politietterforsker, i tillegg til å ha vist seg i den første episoden av den tredje sesongen av Fargo.
