Utseende
Ganske små styltefluer med noe metallisk glans.
Levevis
Larvene utvikler seg inne i stenglene på gress, siv og andre gresslignende planter. Dette er et uvanlig levesett for styltefluer, og gjør at noen av artene er regnet som skadedyr.
Utbredelse
Slekten forekommer i Afrika.
