RCEP

Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) er en frihandelsavtale mellom 15 land i Asia–Stillehavsregionen. Deltakende land er de ti landa i ASEAN: Brunei, Filippinene, Indonesia, Kambodsja, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand og Vietnam, og dessuten Australia, Japan, Kina, New Zealand og Sør-Korea.^[1]

Etter åtte års forhandlinger ble avtalen undertegnet 15. november 2020 på toppmøtet i Organisasjonen for sørøstasiatiske nasjoner (ASEAN). Avtalen trådte i kraft 1. januar 2022, 60 dager etter at den var ratifisert av seks signaturstater som er ASEAN-medlemmer og tre andre signaturstater.^[1]^[2] Per 18. mars 2022 har Filippinene, Indonesia, Myanmar ikke ratifisert avtalen.^[3]

De 15 landa har til sammen 2,2 milliarder innbyggere, og RCEP kommer både i innbyggertall og BNP til å være verdens største frihandelsområde.^[1]
