Kolonisering av månen

Kolonisering av månen vil innebære etablering av menneskelige bosetninger og/eller robotisert industri på månen.

Såvel science fiction-forfattere som forelesere for romforskning har lenge sett den relativt nærliggende månen som det første logiske steget for en menneskelig ekspansjon ut i rommet. Flere stater har de senere årene offentliggjort planer om rombaser på månen. Blant annet har NASAs «Vision for Space Exploration» et delmål om å komme tilbake til månen rundt 2020, og i årene etter å etablere en permanent base – en plan som forøvrig ble slått fast av USAs tidligere president George W. Bush.[1][2]

Samtidig har Russland planer om å sende et menneske til månen rundt 2025 med en permanent base i sikte en gang i perioden 2027–2032.[3] Også Kina[4] og Japan[5] har planer om å i det minste en etablering på månen, mens Europa med Den europeiske romfartsorganisasjon i spissen spekulerer i en eventuell internasjonal rombase.[6]
