Jacobs vise

«Jacobs vise» er en vise av Ole Paus, utgitt i diktsamlingen Tekster fra en trapp (1971) og på platen Garman i 1972. Sangen handler om «den totale ensomheten»[1] og antyder at hovedpersonen Jacob begår selvmord. Sangen er en av flere tidlige sanger som uttrykker Paus' interesse for utstøtte og marginaliserte i samfunnet, ved siden av blant annet Merkelige Mira og Kajsas sang.[2] Sangen er løst inspirert av Karsten og Henry, to uteliggere som Paus ble kjent med i barndommen da han bodde i en av Luftforsvarets leiligheter på Hovseter. De to uteliggerne bodde i en enkel hytte de hadde laget selv i Hovseterskogen. En dag hadde noen av offiserene i Luftforsvarets boliger satt fyr på hytta, og Karsten og Henry var borte.[3]
