Hammerdal er et tettsted i Strömsund kommune i Jämtlands län i landskapet Jämtland i Sverige. I 2010 hadde tettstedet 974 innbyggere.[1] Hammerdal ligger ved E45 cirka 30 kilometer sør for Strömsund. Stedet var administrasjonssentrum for Hammerdal kommune fra 1944 til 1973, da den ble en del av Strömsund kommune.

Stedet er kjent for treindustri og for et større sementstøperi. Hammerdal var lenge et kirkelig sentrum for nordre Jämtland og man kjenner til at det var kirke der på 1300-tallet.[trenger referanse] Nåværende kirke er fra 1782. Stedet var også et juridisk sentrum for nordre Jämtland gjennom Hammerdals tingslag, som grenset til Lappland i nord og til Nord-Trøndelag i vest. I 1928 hadde tinglaget 18007 innbyggere på et areal som var 9220 kvadratkilometer stort.[trenger referanse]
