August Heisenberg (født 13. november 1869 i Osnabrück, død 22. november 1930 i München) var en tysk bysantinist.

Heisenberg ble i 1909 professor ved universitetet i München og utgiver av det av Karl Krumbacher grunblegte Byzantinische Zeitschrift. I stor grad takket være Heisenbergs entusiasme, energi og dyktige ledelse var lenge Mittel- und Neugriechisches Seminar i München med Bysantinische Zeitschrift midtpunktet for den av Krumbacher nyoppvekkede bysantinske filologi. Heisenbergs eget vitenskapelige arbeide var verdifullt og mangfordig, såvel innen det bysantinske som det nygreske område.

Foreuten hans flittige medarbeiderskap som kritiker i sitt tidsskrift, kan fremholdes nye utgaver av flere bysantinske forfatteres arbeider, likesom betydelige bidrag til den bysantinske kunst- og kulturhistorie.

August Heisenberg var far til fysikeren og nobelprisvinneren Werner Heisenberg, og kjemikeren Erwin Heisenberg.
